Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 10/02/2025

This privacy policy explains how I handle information on my personal blog at blog.monchoplus.com. I’m committed to transparency and protecting your privacy. I do not collect personal data unless voluntarily provided (e.g., via email comments or newsletter signups), and my analytics tools are designed to respect your privacy.

1. Data I Collect
Analytics
:
I use Umami, a privacy-focused, open-source analytics tool, to track anonymized website usage. This includes:

  • Page views (no IP addresses, timestamps, or unique identifiers).
  • Generic device information (e.g., desktop/mobile, browser, and operating system).
All data is stored on my own server and never shared with third parties. Umami does not use cookies or collect personal data.

Voluntary Data:

  • Emails to me: If you contact me directly (e.g., via your personal email client), messages go to my private email server. I only retain your email address and message content for as long as needed to respond.
  • Newsletters: If you subscribe to my newsletter (if applicable), your email address is processed via Mailgun, a third-party email delivery service.

2. Legal Basis (GDPR)

  • Analytics: Processed under legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for anonymized traffic analysis. No consent is required as no cookies or personal data are used.
  • Newsletters: If offered, subscriptions require your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may unsubscribe at any time.

3. Third-Party Services

  • Newsletters: Mailgun is used to send newsletter emails (if applicable). Mailgun may process your email address and metadata. Review Mailgun’s Privacy Policy.
  • Direct emails: Messages sent directly to me (e.g., via your email client) are handled by my personal email server and not processed by third parties.

I do not share your data with advertisers, affiliates, or other third parties beyond the specific cases above.

4. Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Request access to or deletion of data you’ve voluntarily provided (e.g., emails or newsletter subscriptions).
  • Withdraw consent for newsletters (if applicable).
  • Object to processing (though analytics data is anonymized and exempt).
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise these rights, contact me at moncho@monchoplus.com

5. Data Security

  • Analytics data is anonymized and stored on my own server.
  • Email communications are protected by HTTPS and standard email security practices.
  • Mailgun employs enterprise-grade security for newsletter delivery (if used).

6. Policy Updates
I may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted here with a revised "Last Updated" date.
